Spinacia oleracea or commonly known as Spinach is a nontoxic leafy plant which belongs to the family of Amaranthaceae. This is a native plant of Southwestern Asia. This is a yearly plant which grows to a tallness of up to 30 centimeters. This leafy plant is firstly cultivated by the Persians and now it is cultivated right through the world, with the tropics exception.

Amazingly high in vitamin C and rich in riboflavin, one cup of cooked spinach also includes a very high level of vitamin A, magnesium, folate, potassium, as well as vitamins E, B6, and thiamin.
